Daily published in 12 new steel and scrap prices

Platts Steel Markets Daily published in 12 new steel and scrap prices

   Platts, a division of The McGraw-Hill Companies (NYSE: MHP) and a leading global provider of information from and for the energy and metals industry, today in Steel Markets Daily, one of 70 global news and pricing information core products of the company, with the publication of a dozen new daily price assessments of steel products and scrap began.
   Platts Steel Markets Daily provides readers worldwide with price benchmarks, news and market commentary on steel, one of the world's most strategic commodities. In addition to the previously published prices for hot rolled coil and rebar steel Steel Markets Daily is now:
     - Five cold-rolled coil prices. In Europe: ex-works Ruhr
         (Germany), CIF Port of Antwerp (Belgium) and FOB at port
         Black Sea (inland sea between Europe and Turkey) and in the
         USA: Indiana factory and CIF Port of Houston, Texas.
         (Note:. CIF means cost, insurance and freight FOB means
         free on board. Ex-works signifies direct from the mill).
     - Four plate prices. In Europe: ex-works Ruhr, CIF Antwerp and in the
         U.S.: ex-works Southeast (Southeastern coastal ports of the U.S.) and CIF Houston.
     - Three ferrous scrap prices. In Europe: heavy melting scrap, FOB port
         Rotterdam (The Netherlands) and FOB Black Sea and in the U.S.:
         Shredded steel scrap delivered to mills in the Midwest.
   Platts began on 29 January with the publication of daily steel prices to meet the demand for reliable and transparent price information in the industry.

   "Now that we have established the development of daily prices for nearly nine months, reliable, has let us know the steel industry, it welcomes more, using the unique methodology of Platts prices would be interested," Francis Browne, director of steel, said at Platts -London. Scrap iron and steel scrap used as raw material in furnaces for the conversion of old steel products into recycled new steel products.
